Subject: Updated Call for Submissions: TRANS YOUTH ANTHOLOGY

Hey folks-- After an amazing first round of submissions, I am issuing a second Call for Submissions for the Trans Youth Anthology. I am focusing on finding writing and artwork by folks who are traditionally underrepresented in the more "mainstream" transgender movement... Including trans youth of color, folks from low-income backgrounds, immigrant youth, and intersex youth. In addition, for a variety of reasons I have received far fewer submissions by trans people on the Male-to-Female (MTF) spectrum than the FTM spectrum. It would be a great help if you would please be so kind as to pass this call for submissions on to your friends and e-mail lists, as well as printing it out to share with people who don't have Internet access.

Thanks for your help and support,

Isaiah

==TRANS YOUTH ANTHOLOGY==
------------------------------------------
Writing & Artwork by
Transgender, Transsexual, Gender-bending
and Gender-questioning Youth
------------------------------------------
If you consider yourself transexual, gender-bender, MTF, FTM, transgender, intersex, two-spirit, gender-fluid, TG butch, femme queen, gender-queer, cross-dresser, third gender, drag king/queen, OR ANY OTHER (TRANS)GENDER IDENTITY...This upcoming anthology needs YOUR voice!

The anthology will be by, for, and about trans youth. I am looking for essays, short stories, cartoons, black-and-white photography, erotica, political commentary, self portraits, testimonials, poetry, love letters, ideas, journal entries, art, prose and manifestos.

Submissions that consider the way gender relates to our experiences of RACE, CLASS, DIS/ABILITY, ETHNICITY, RELIGION, SEX and SEXUAL ORIENTATION are especially encouraged. The book is committed to exploring the ways in which our lives are affected by racism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, age discrimination and ableism.

As the editor I am committed to publishing the writing and artwork of trans youth of color, working class youth and others who have been marginalized within transgender and queer communities.

You don't have to consider yourself a writer to contribute to this anthology!
