Subject:MTV wants you!

Dear LGBT activists:

MTV News is producing a half hour news special on Sex Laws -- contentious issues like gay rights, reproductive rights, and sex ed which uniquely affect our young audience -- for our political awareness campaign, Choose or Lose 2000. Through personal stories, we hope to inform our audience about the real impact of politics on our sexual behavior, health, and identity.

We are actively seeking a young cute (!) same-sex couple (aged 18-28) who can talk to us about how the lack of legal protections affects their relationship. Regardless of public acceptance, the law still leaves gay youth unprotected against employment discrimination, housing discrimination, harassment in schools, bias-crime, military discharge, etc. How does this affect the universal aspects of their relationship -- their ability to show affection in public, to discuss their partner at work, to share an apartment together? What does the fact that they can't get married, share insurance benefits, or adopt a child do to their level of commitment? How do they plan on securing the right to sharing a life and a family together??

If you know of any couples who would be willing to be interviewed on camera, please forward my contact information to them. We are on a tight production deadline and need to find subjects AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, hopefully by September 1st!

Sincerely,
Anneka Jones
