David Lowenfels, the student at Dimond High School who created the Gay/Straight Alliance has sent me information regarding a new website for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered youth in Alaska (and nationally).
It is a very comprehensive site and includes a lot of very good information. He would like to hear from us as far as suggestions for improving the website and would like us to "spread the word" to let people know this site is online.
The website address is http://www.alaska.net/~lowenfel/yan.htm
There is also a rally being planned for Friday, May 9. The rally will be in support of L/G/B/T youth and will be called "BREAKING THE SILENCE." We need to help spread the word about this rally and encourage as many organizations, churches, groups and individuals as possible to be involved. I WISH I HAD AS MUCH COURAGE WHEN I WAS THEIR AGE AS THE STUDENTS AT DIMOND HAVE SHOWN DURING THE PAST FEW MONTHS. Let's do our part by supporting their rally!
The webpage also has addtional information on the rally. More information will be forwarded as it becomes available.
Later...
