March 15 Community Meeting Sponsored by San Ramon, Ca PTA

You may have read, in the Contra Costa Times, San Francisco Chronicle, San Ramon Valley Times or via RainbowGov ... or seen the lead and lengthy story on KRON-TV4 ... about the hate website created by two 8th grade students at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville, Ca. Though this hate site attacked and demeaned Asian, Black, Jewish, Native American and perceived 'queer loving' students at Charlotte Wood, one of the primary victims of this hate site was teacher Gary Leveque. The comments made about his personal life were incredibly hateful ... to put it mildly.

Though Gary has received incredible support from students, teachers, numerous parents & community groups, and, especially, his partner Vance, he has thus far been treated by the San Ramon Valley School District not as the victim of a world-wide-web attack upon his integrity and person but as somehow the perpetrator of bad publicity for the school. The district, by the way, refuses to take action against the perpetrators of this hate website.

Gary, with his students and others concerned for his future and safety, needs your help. Please consider attending a public meeting sponsored by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at the Charlotte Wood Middle School (600 El Capitan; Danville) on Thursday, March 15th at 7:00 PM. Your presence can make a difference in how this incidence of 'hate,' or any future incident, should be addressed within this school district.
