WE ARE NOT SILENT! We make a lotta noise:we make political comedy about stuff that burns our butt and for six years we've been making original plays with Youth in our SF Mime Troupe Youth Theater Project. Our Queer Youth Theater Group will meet twice weekly for eight weeks and improvise, write and create an original play on a topic that both scandalizes and inspires us. We will then join three other Youth Theatre Groups and perform our show in a fully professionally supported Youth Theatre Festival.

Got issues? Got Dreams? Make Art! Make Friends! Be Heard!

Participants will receive acting, comedy and playwriting training, and participate in all aspects of the creation process. Plus, snack and a $5.00 stipend is provided for every class attended. This workshop is produced in community partnership with the SF Mime Troupe, the Harvey Milk Institute and the Gay-Straight Alliance Network.

The San Francisco Mime Troupe is America's foremost theater of political comedy. The Tony-award winning company has been creating and performing theater around the Bay Area, the nation and the globe since 1959. MIME:the exaggeration of everyday life in story and song.
