New this year! The "GLSEN Showcase" is a proposal option that provides artists the opportunity to present a new film, play or other performance based piece relating to LGBT, youth, and/or education issues.
GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) is currently seeking dynamic proposals for 90-minute workshop sessions, 3-hour clinics, and artistic presentations of varying lengths that will provide community activists with the capacity and conviction to create a future in which every child learns to accept and respect all others regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity/expression. Teaching Respect for All 2003 is GLSEN's annual national conference and the largest national summit for creating safe and supportive schools for LGBT people.
I hope that you/your organization will consider submitting a proposal and that you will spread the word to colleagues and other organizations that have a vested interest in youth safety and educational equity. All details and instructions are included in the attached materials. To access this information and apply online, visit http://www.glsen.org/templates/events/article.html?section=50&record=1009.
We hope that you will be a part of TRA 03, which will include a lobby day on Capitol Hill this year. The weekend will be packed with special events, interactive workshops, plenary sessions and full-day learning institutes all designed to help create positive change in hometown school communities. Join us as we learn new skills from seasoned educators and activists, network with movement innovators, gain inspiration from youth leaders, and make a difference in the school experiences of students nationwide.
All inquiries about TRA 2003 should be directed to conference@glsen.org.
Thank you for your consideration!
