BOSTON CONFERENCE

The 11th annual GLSEN/Boston Conference: "Creating Safety - Teaching Respect" will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Tufts University in Medford, MA. This year we expect over 650 students, teachers, counselors, administrators, parents and other individuals committed to improving the climate in our schools for GLBTQ youth. This year's conference features a keynote speech by Greg Berlanti, Executive Producer of the TV show Dawson's Creek, a premiere of a new theater performance by Jeffrey Solomon (Mother/SON) focusing on homophobia in schools, a special screening of "That's A Family", and over 40 workshops on topics such as "Responding to Homophobic Comments in the Classroom", "Homophobia in school athletics", "Responding to Opposition and Controversy: Creating a Respectful Dialogue", "Curriculum ideas for English and Social Studies Teachers", "Understanding Transgendered Issues", "Finding Support after school" and many, many others.
